Make Up – The Cavewoman Way
You will have heard long ago about the discovery of cave paintings, you may even have been lucky enough to see some first hand across Europe. The paintings are thought to have been used as a form of communication as well as to decorate living areas. Fascinating, but here’s the really interesting bit…
It turns out that Neanderthals experimented in more that interior decorating, they actually used and applied make up 5o,000 years ago! British Archaeologists from Bristol University found evidence of colourful and black pigments in sea shells at one of the sites in Spain. These may have been used to create eye shadows, make up bases and even body art.
I don’t know about you but I’d love to pick up a few ‘retro look’ make up tips from them. x
